Mysuru: With the Congress suffering miserably in the Assembly elections in Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts, considered the party’s stronghold, it is evident that it would lead to later repercussions in the Lok Sabha elections in 2019. So in order to carry out some disaster management, Congress MP in Chamarajanagar, R. Dhruvanarayana held a meeting at Gundlupet to discuss the reasons for the failure.

In the bypolls in the Chamarajanagar segment in April 2017, the Congress succeeded in retaining its seat but lost it to the BJP in just a year. This has come as a warning to the Congress, predicting its fate in the 2019 elections. However, even when the BJP won across the country in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Dhruvanarayana won the reserved parliamentary segment with a lead of over 1.50 lakh votes.

Now, he has decided to discuss the ground level problems in the segment, with the help of the State government. In spite of this, he admitted that the coalition was at a disadvantage since it had four segments to the opposition parties. Chamarajanagar parliamentary segment is spread over Varuna, T Narsipur, H D Kote, Nanjangud in Mysuru district; Hanur, Chamarajanagar, Kollegal and Gundlupet in Chamarajanagar district.
