The film showcases a scene involving the revered Tulu deity, Koragajja, which has drawn criticism. The Mangaluru Daivaradhane Samrakshana Trust and others have strongly opposed the portrayal, arguing that it is inappropriate to depict such sacred rituals in cinema. Key members of the trust offered special prayers at Sri Kshetra Kadri, expressing their displeasure. “Divine worship is not something to be showcased. Rituals performed with devotion should not be depicted in this manner,” they said.
Meanwhile, actor Arjun Kapikad visited the Kallapu Burdugoli Guliga Koragajja Udbhava Shile, the origin site of the deity, on Friday. Speaking to reporters after offering prayers, Kapikad stated, “We have only tried to portray the essence of Koragajja deity worship, and the audience is showing love. We have not misrepresented the rituals. If anyone feels hurt, I will personally visit and speak with them. There is no need for controversy without watching the film. The entire team of the film is ardent devotees of Koragajja, and we have prayed for the Koragajja’s blessings to be with us.”
