Covid 19: 388 cases reported today; Udupi goes from being green zone to dist with most cases

Bengaluru: With 388 positive cases reported in the last 24 hours, Karnataka recorded its biggest single-day spike in coronavirus cases on Tuesday, June 2.

A total of 388 cases, 75 discharges have been confirmed in the state in the last 24 hours, the health department said in its bulletin.

Of the new cases reported today, 367 are interstate passengers.

District wise Udupi accounted for majority cases with 150 persons testing positive, followed by Kalaburagi with 100 cases and Belagavi with 51 cases. Benagluru reported 12 cases, Yadagiri (5), Mandya (4), Raichur (16), Hassan (9), Bidar (10), Davangere (7), Chkkaballarpura (2), Vijaypura (4), Bagalkote (9), Dharwad (2), Tumkuru (2), Kolar (1), Bengaluru Rural (3) and Haveri (1).

Till date, 3796 positive cases have been confirmed. This includes 1403 discharges and 52 deaths. Presently, 2339 cases are active in the state.

Notably Bengaluru which led in the number of reported cases till now is in the third spot as far as Covid cases are confirmed. Udupi which was in the green zone till around a month back currently has reported most number of Covid 19 cases.
