Dakshina Kannada Congress Committee protest over halting of smart city works in M’luru

Mangaluru: Condemning the decision of MCC to halt smart city works, Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee on Tuesday staged protest in front of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC)

Recently, Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) decided to halt all the works pertaining to Smart city project in the city. MCC informed the high court  that the respective contractors will be asked to stall the works till the rules of construction and demolition waste management of 2016 are followed.

Criticising the move, Former MLA JR Lobo, said, ” We were hoping that the smart city project would help in developing our city, but there were all false. If High Court has halted the smart city works, then imagine the amount of corruption done by officials”

Former Minister B Ramanath Rai said, ” BJP did operation Kamala to come into power. Like the rest, now even the smart city project will go down the drain”
