Dalit youth shot dead by lover's father

Muzaffarnagar (UP): A Dalit youth was shot dead allegedly by the father of a girl he was in love with at Bachan Singh colony here, the police said today. 

Vikas (18) was called by accused Anil Kumar Gupta to the latter’s house yesterday, SP(city) Ombir Singh said. 

The accused then shot the boy dead as he was opposed to his daughter’s relationship with the victim, the officer said. 

Gupta was later arrested. A pistol used in the crime was found from his possession, the police said. The body has been sent for postmortem, they added.
