Datta Peeta row: 3-member cabinet subcommittee to receive petitions on Feb 7

Chikkamagaluru: The three-member subcommittee of the state cabinet will visit the district on February 7  in connection to the dispute over the appointment of Mujawar or a Hindu priest at Datta Peetha.

The cabinet subcommittee was formed by the state government as per the order of the Karnataka High Court. It will look into solving the dispute of procedural and puja rituals inside Guru Dattatreya Baba Budan Dargah here.

The committee, which includes law minister Madhuswamy, Muzrai minister Shashikala Jolle and fisheries minister S Angara, will receive petitions and documentary evidence from the members of the general public, said Chikkamagaluru deputy commissioner, K N Ramesh.

Anyone who desires to submit petitions to the committee has to register themselves and obtain a token at the offices of the deputy commissioner of the Muzrai department.
