Pollution level will also be dropped down by this policy, When private vehicles enter the city, a fixed amount is debited from the ATM card of vehicle owners. This will result in the smooth functioning of public transport and also will reduce the traffic congestion,” he added.
“Before enforcing ERP, the plan will be discussed in a meeting with Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) and other representatives. The amount for a particular vehicle for a particular region will also be fixed after taking suggestions from the representatives. The ERP will be introduced in phases,” he said.
