As of May 13, 2,877 cases have been reported, a notable rise from the 1,725 cases reported during the same period last year, according to the health department’s statistics.
In response to the increase, the health department has initiated measures to curb the spread of dengue, and strategic meetings have been conducted with district health officers and the mission director of the National Health Mission (NHM) to coordinate efforts.
Asha workers and health department personnel are conducting house visits to monitor reported dengue cases at district hospitals. Awareness meetings are being organized in water-scarce areas, and the availability of testing kits and medicines is being closely monitored.
