The Congress party has offered ticket to Seetharam to challenge elections from Malleshwaram. The BJP has handled its sitting MLA Dr C N Ashwathnarayana from the constituency.

The Congress high command has purportedly educated the State Congress authority to withhold giving ‘B’ form to Devraj Patil, whose name was figured in the party’s list for Badami constituency in Bagalkote area.

Sources said the party was enthusiastic about renominating sitting MLA B Chimmankatti as opposed to handling a fresh face. Chimmankatti had decided to sit out if the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah wanted to contest a seat from the northern Karnataka district.
