Udupi: Udupi district has earned the second rank in the state of Karnataka for the speed of disposing the applications that are filed in the land section of the Sakala.
4,672 applications were submitted under the land section in the month of August and the applications very quickly disposed by the concerned department, thereby gaining 2.62 points in the Sigma ranking, and hence securing the second place.
No application was received under Sakala in some gram panchayat and primary health centres of the district in the month of August and hence the district administration served notice to 98 gram panchayats and nine primary health centres asking the explanation for the same.
Since the introduction of deduction of salary at the rate of Rs 20 per day of the concerned officials, who do not dispose the Sakala applications on time, the work in the land related applications has gained pace. Additionally, a letter of appreciation is also given to staff members who quickly clear the applications.
Additional Deputy Commissioner is getting daily report on the applications pending from the Nodal officers and a WhatsApp group has been created for the emergency scrutiny of applications that are submitted under the Sakala scheme.
