Speaking at a news conference after the meeting the DC said that presently the district does not face shortages of oxygen or hospital beds and has enough vaccine to last for another three days with new stocks coming soon.

“From tomorrow, till the morning of May 12, only essential shops and services will be allowed to operate till 10 am. Taxis and autorickshaws will have restricted operations to ferry people to airport or railways stations or to vaccine centres. People having appointments in private hospitals must show the proof of appointment to officials while travelling to the hospital. Eateries can have only take away or home delivery service. Travel outside the district will be restricted,” the DC said.

He added that discussions were held with CREDAI on the issue of migrant labourers.

He also said that a plan is being prepared to prevent people from travelling long distances to get vaccinated.
