Cases would be filed against the TV channels and the public which are conducting and participating in such polls, warned the DC, who was chairing the Lok Sabha election media certification and supervisory committee (MCMC) meeting on Wednesday, April 3.
“It is a matter of concern when voters openly speak on the political party/candidate they will choose, which is broadcast live on some channels. Every candidate is given an equal opportunity for open and fair elections,” said the DC. Public Interviews should just remain as public discussions and not aim to influence the public, added the DC.
Warning against printing the names of DC and zilla panchayat CEO on invites of private programmes, without prior permission, the DC assured that action will be taken against such organisers.
