Addressing an emergency press conference at his residence on Monday evening, Sudhakar expressed his disappointment over the loss and described it as a failure of development.
However, Sudhakar vowed to cooperate with all the MLAs in the district for the betterment of the area. “In politics, victory is not permanent, and even defeat is not final,” he remarked, emphasizing the transient nature of electoral outcomes. The former minister alleged that he lost the election because the JD(S) failed to secure its traditional votes, and at the eleventh hour, JD(S) leaders allegedly cross-voted in favor of the Congress.
Moreover, he expressed dismay over the decision taken by former MLA K.P. Bachegowda for ”personal gain”, labeling it as an unforgivable crime.
