Dry waste can be kept at home for many days. But, it is impossible to keep wet waste at home for more than two days. Therefore, the members of the Mission have created a plan to maintain wet waste through the method of earthen pots compost. Initially, on an experimental basis, 1000 pots have been given to people from different areas and the future steps will be taken based on the feedback.
Production of compost from wet waste has been taking place from the past one year. It is the aim of Ramakrishna Mission to partially solve the problem of managing wet waste.
