Udupi: Eminent Yakshagana artiste Malpe Vasudev Samaga passed away on Saturday, November 7 morning. He was 71.

He died due to age-related ailments, informed family sources.

Vasudev Samaga enriched the field of Yakshagana with his expertise on this percussion instrument that has an important role in this folk art.
