Regional Passport Officer Bharath Kumar Kuthati said “The new POPSKs were opened in February and March. The first POPSK was opened in Mysuru last January. The new POPSKs have been opened at Belagavi, Shivamogga, Ballari, Davangere, Udupi, Gadag, Raichur, Bidar, Tumakuru, Hassan and Vijayapura,”

Karnataka has the extraordinary qualification of having a solitary RPO, not at all like different States, for example, Maharashtra and Kerala. The new POPSKs imply that passport application would now be able to apply at the nearest choice for them.

“We are discharging 50 appointments every day in the new POPSKs and are wanting to increase it to 75 soon as the waiting time for an appointment in some places, like in Belagavi, is 20 days,” he said.
