The deceased, identified as 62-year-old Boja Moolya, a resident of Kanjattur in Kaliye village, Bantwal, was a well-known Ambassador car driver in the area.
He had sustained injuries in a road accident earlier this month.
The accident reportedly occurred on the evening of October 11, around 7 p.m., when he parked his car along the national highway to cross the road toward a nearby chicken stall in Talapady-Baikampady. He was struck by an oncoming bike, which left him with a leg injury and required immediate medical attention at a private hospital in Mangaluru.

However, nearly 19 days after the accident, Moolya began experiencing severe respiratory difficulties at home. He was rushed to a private hospital in Thumbe, but despite all efforts, he passed away on October 29, as confirmed by family sources.
An autopsy was conducted to ascertain the cause of the death.
Moolya, affectionately known as Bojaanna, was widely recognized in the local community for his 42 years of dedicated service as a driver. Known for his friendly nature, he often engaged warmly with people in car parking areas, greeting and chatting with acquaintances. As an active member of the drivers’ association, Moolya was respected for his honest and dutiful nature, always ready to support his fellow drivers.
