The backward classes department has invited applications for the 2019-20 scholarship of students belonging to the backward classes.
Scholarship exempt from fees along with Vidyasiri – food and accommodation scholarship and internship for nursing students will be provided. Eligible students belonging to the backward classes and nomad/semi-nomad lifestyle may submit application for courses after matriculation.
Eligibility criteria
- Applicant must belong to any backward class recognized by the union or state government.
- Should be an Indian and a permanent resident of the state of Karnataka
- They should be students studying at government local institution / aided institution / recognized unaided private institutions affiliated to Karnataka’s statutory universities.
- The annual final income of the applicant’s family should not be more than Rs 2.50 lakh under category 1 and Rs 1 lakh for those coming under 2A, 3A, 3B category

D Devaraja Arasu scholarship for foreign education
The backward classes department is inviting application for is D Devaraja Arasu scholarship for foreign education
Applications are invited from eligible students belonging to category 1 and category 2A, 3A, 3B pursuing post-graduation and Ph.D at a foreign university for the 2019 – 20 year. The application has been invited via online.
- Applicants attempting PG and Ph.D must have achieved at least 70% marks or equivalent grade in their previous degree/ post graduation degree.
- The age of Ph.D students should not be more than 27 years while the age limit for PG students is set at 25,
- The total annual family income should be within Rs 6 lakh.
