28 days since the fishermen went missing mysteriously, no credible lead yet

• Search carried out in all rivers, search also carried out in Kerala

Malpe: Day by day, the case of the missing deep sea trawler ‘Suvarna Tribhuja’ along with its crew of 7 fishermen is only getting more confusing. Tough a high level search attempts have been done by using all the available resources for the safe recovery of the missing fishermen, there has been no positive development. Since there is no lead, the operation is being hindered and the family members fear and pain is only increasing.

On Wednesday, two teams of 10 policemen each had gone to Kerala and accrued out a search operation up till the coast of Diu. Till now, search was only being conducted on the borders of Goa and Maharashtra. It has come to knowledge that the police will take assistance from the local fishermen and the police force of Kerala to find the missing fishermen.

Search in all rivers

Search is being conducted ay Goa and Sindhudur and along the coast of Maharashtra where the rivers meet the sea. The coastal security police is carrying out searches along the big and small rivers. There is also a suspicion that the boat might have crossed Indian waters and ventured out into the international waters, and the concerned forces are conducting investigation on that line.

Information collection of ships

The last known location of the missing trawler which went missing in Sindhudurg area is known. The last signal was traced at 1 am in the middle of the night.  There is information that attempts are being made by using satellite technology, to collect information on the ships that might have passed through this route from midnight 1 am to morning 6 am.

For additional search google, satellite information along with assistance from Indian National Research Centre for Ocean Information System in Hyderabad and Karnataka State Remote sensing Application Centre is being utilized.

Some peace from the courage provided by Daiva

The families of the missing fishermen have received some courage and peace through the assurances of the Bobbarya Daiva which stated that the missing folk are under incarceration in the northern side. A week ago, during the presence of Panjurli Daiva, the household daiva of Chandrashekhar Kotiyan, the same information had been given. Thus all believe that all the missing fishermen will return back safely.

Pejawar Seer’s letter to PM

Sources have informed that the Pejawar Seer has written a letter to the prime minister, home minister and defence minister to take immediate action in connection to the case of the missing deep sea trawler. In the letter the Seer states that the missing fishermen and their families are facing much fear and therefore the latest technology must be used in the locating and safe recovery of te missing fishermen.

Fishing to begin from today?

There is possibility that the deep sea trawlers may weigh anchor and venture out into the sea for fishing on the night of Friday Jan 11^th. Previously, labourers from Uttara Kannada had stated that they would not take part in fishing activities until there was any credible lead regarding the missing fishermen. Now it is understood that, post a meeting with the owners of deep sea trawlers association, the labourers have agreed to take part in fishing.

“In the backdrop of the information that pirates or terrorist might have kidnapped the fishermen, the chief minister has contacted the union home minister and requested for additional operation. Along with the coast guard, assistance is being availed from many other defence forces,” said Dr Jayamala, Udupi district in-charge minister
