After PM meet, BSY allays lockdown fears

Bengaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has ruled out imposition of a lockdown or night curfew in the state. Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister had held a review meeting with the state chief ministers over the emerging second wave of Covid-19.

Assuring that the state government is taking all measures to contain curb of the virus, Yediyurappa informed that he has sought Centre’s permission to take up vaccination in apartment complexes, old age homes and inaccessible terrains across the state.

Yediyurappa also announced the decision to open up 3 Covid Care Centres in Bengaluru to address any eventuality and medical emergency keeping in mind the rising Covid cases. However, the CM clarified that the health department along with the BBMP decide on locations of the CCCs.
