Before Chief Election Commissioner Om Prakash Rawat announced the dates of the election, Malviya tweeted that the election will be held on May 12 and the countings will be on May 18.

Taking insight of Malviya’s tweet, the CEC said the Election Commission will take necessary actions against it. “Certain things may have spilled for which Election Commission will take strict actions,” CEC Rawat said.

When he was asked regarding Malviya’s tweet CEC said that the matter will be investigated and legal and administrative actions will be taken against it. The CEC, notwithstanding, said that Malviya got the counting date wrong as the Karnataka Assembly polls will be held on May 12 and the outcomes will be announced on May 15.

After inquiries were raised, Malviya has erased his tweet.
