​​​​​​​Areca nut, copper vessel robbery accused arrested

Siddapura: Shankara Narayan police have arrested two persons accused of robbing almost 3 quintal of areca nut and a copper vessel from the courtyard of Dinakar Shetty in Belve village of Kundapur taluk. The arrested have been produced before the Court.

The arrested have been identified as Ravi alias Ravichandra (24), a resident of Yalantur in Belve village and Prathviraj Poojary (24), a resident of Varanga village in Karkala taluk. They have been remanded to judicial custody.

The robbery was committed on February 11^th. The accused were arrested when they were transporting the stolen areca nut in an omni car for sale. The police have seized areca nut worth Rs 36,000, a copper vessel worth Rs 4,000 and the car costing Rs 2.5 lakh, which was used for transporting the stolen goods from the accused.
