Arko Bhajan Seva – Navathi celebration held by GSB Sabha Mumbai

At dawn on Sunday, January 7, 2024, the members of G.S.B. Sabha Mumbai assembled at the Sabha’s office at Matunga. After Prarthana by Vaidik Prashant Bhat, the idols of Vitthal – Rakhumai, the Aradhya devatas of our Sabha were taken in a procession with traditional vadya to the celebration venue at I.M. Pai Hall, Sujir Gopal Nayak Kreeda Mandir (GSB Sabha’s Sports Club), King’s Circle, Mumbai.

The women folks accorded a Purna Kumbha Swagat. After the Drishti uvalche and welcome with “Tamde Udak” the idols were installed. The pranapratishta was followed by lighting the traditional Arko Bhajan Divli.

Bhajan seva was performed by GSB Bhanjani Mandals from 8 am to 8 pm. The bhajans were so melodious and enthralling that some of the attendees spontaneously performed Nrutya seva around the Divli.

Arrangements were made for people to offer various sevas like Annasartarpan seva, Pushalankar seva, Abhushan seva, Vhonti seva, Nandadeep seva, Phala naivedya seva, Kumkum archana seva etc. Devotees offered these sevas in large nos.

The attendees were offered different Ekadashi Phalaharu through-out the day.

The event was well attended with devotees and well-wishers coming from far flung areas around Mumbai.

Visarjan poja was offered at 8.15 pm after which the idols were taken back to the Sabha office with the same protocol.

The Sabha, from its inception in 1934, has lived up to its motto of “Enhancing Community Well Being”. Being a Socio-Cultural organisation the Sabha has strived to explore and deliver initiatives ranging from Medical to education to health and arts to sports. In its centenary year in 2034 the Sabha would like to embark upon some project that should in many ways be a landmark project.
