As onlookers turn a blind eye to injured constable, BMTC staff come to his rescue 

Bengaluru: Though Karnataka became the first state in the country to pass the Good Samaritan Bill, people are reluctant to come forward to the rescue of accident victims even now. 

In a recent instance that took place on Friday, the reluctance of the people was evident as none of them tried to shift an injured police constable, Siddaraju who was bleeding profusely having sustained head injuries in a road mishap near Hydala village towards Neramangala. Passersby turned a blind eye to the 36-year-old constable, who is a part of the Karnataka State Industrial Security Force (KSISF) as he kept calling for help while few of them even took videos and photos of the incident but didn’t come forward to help him.

A BMTC bus that was passing by the spot at that time slowed down the vehicle on seeing a crowd gathered at the spot and noticed that a man was lying in a pool of blood. The driver, Gangadhar YN stopped the bus and called for an ambulance but as it did not turn up he along with the conductor, Srinivas rushed the constable to a nearby hospital. 

As per reports few persons have mentioned that a speeding vehicle crashed into Siddaraju’s bike which caused the accident but no such evidence was spotted in the CCTV footage procured by the police.
