Speaking on the occasion, MRPL Chief General Manager Harish Baliga said, it has been decided to completely develop the lake under the CRF plan. There are thoughts to create the lake traditionally along with walk paths and fence around it and also a park. Along with the blue print from ZP engineers and after completion of the tender process, the work is expected to begin within a year’s period, he informed.
ZP member Vinod Bollur, Padupanambur GP president Mohandas, Gautham Jain from Mulki Aramane and panchayat members provided suggestions on the occasion.
The king of Mulki area M Dugganna Savant, MRPL senior manager Rama Subrahmanyam, GP engineers Prabhakar, Prashant Alva, padupanambur GP members Umesh Poojary P, Manjula, Panchayat Development Officer Anita V Catherine, secretary Loknath Bhandary, staffs and villagers were present.

Banda lake is spread across 30 cents of government area and the water in the lake acts as a boon for Kambla and cultivation. Even though the lake has silt, it still has at least 7-8 feet of water. If in case the silt it removed, there is the risk that the water may turn salty. If the lake is developed, it will become the source of life for those within 3km limits.
Plan since two years
“Padupanambur GP had created a project for permanent drinking water two years ago. Accordingly, a request was sent to MRPL under ZP’s guidelines. Through continuous attempts it has now borne fruit.
