Bantwal: Four arrested for entering Karinja temple premises without removing footwear

Bantwal: Four persons were arrested by the police for entering the Karinja temple premises without removing the footwear and thus hurting the religious sentiment of the devotees.

The arrested are Busher Rehman (20) from Mastikatte Ullal, Ismail Arhamaj (22) from Mukkacheri House, Ullal, Muhammed Tanish (19) from Halekote House Ullal, and Mohammed Rashad (19) from Babbukatte Permannur here.

Vinay Kumar, son of Anand Nayak A on behalf of the president of Karinja temple managing committee had filed a case under section 295 of the Indian Penal Code at in Punjalkatte police station, after a video showing the accused entering the temple premises without removing the footwear and thus hurting the religious sentiment of the devotees.

The complainant saw the video on November 2 and found that the video had been uploaded on October 7.

The arrested were produced before the magistrate upon which they were ordered to be remanded to judicial custody.
