Bantwal: Man flees after stabbing his wife and father-in-law

Bantwal: A man has fled after stabbing his wife and father-in-law with a knife at Thumbe Junction under the Bantwal Rural police station on Thursday night.

The accused has been identified as Kumar. The incident occurred at around 10.30 pm on Thursday when Rajeev and his daughter Divya, both residents of Thumbe were travelling to Bantwal in an autorickshaw.

Kumar, who is married to Divya, reportedly stopped the vehicle at Thumbe Junction and tried to stab her with the knife. He also stabbed Rajeev who tried to rescue his daughter.

The father-daughter duo was seriously injured in the attack and have been admitted to a private hospital in Thumbe for medical treatment.

It is alleged that the knife attack took place due to some family grievances.

The autorickshaw driver, Yashodhar,  lodged a complaint with Bantwala Rural police station in this regard.
