BBMP Fixes Deadline to Fill-up Potholes after Record Rainfall in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has asked its engineers and other concerned authorities to take-up measures to fill up all potholes in the city and has fixed a deadline after a review on the present condition of the roads in the city on Sunday. Continues rainfall activities during the past 10 days have deteriorated the condition of the roads in the state capital and as a result many potholes have been emerged causing traffic woes.

BBMP Commissioner N Manjunath Prasad and others reviewed the condition of the roads in the city on Sunday night and took decision to repair the roads immediately. According to the BBMP statistics, as many as 5, 000 potholes have been reported in Bengaluru city after the recent rainfall activities.

Speaking on the present condition of the roads in Bengaluru, BBMP commissioner said, “BBMP has asked the concerned engineers of the wards to fill the potholes and complete necessary repair works within two days. BBMP will also hold another review on the roads within a week to evaluate the task completed by the authorities.”

Bengaluru city witnessed a record rainfall of 345.5 mm in August 2017 and this has resulted deterioration of the roads and the rainfall is expected to continue for the next one week, he pointed out.
