Beltangady: 22 yo drowns in Phalguni river

Beltangady: A 22-year-old youth, drowned in a river while taking a bath in it.

The tragic incident occurred in the Phalguni river in Beltangady taluk on Thursday, May 6.

The deceased has been identified as Nishanth, son of Karyana Dugappa, resident of Padangady village.

Reportedly, Nishanth had been to the river to take a swim along with his friends. While they were swimming, one of the friends lost balance and in an attempt to save him, he slipped and drowned in the river.
