Bengaluru: A man hanged himself to death allegedly due to his wife’s luxurious and wasteful spending in Manjunathanagar in Basaveshwaranagar.

The deceased, Chand Pasha (31), worked as a mechanic.

It is gathered that Chand Pasha had married Usma (26) only 4 months ago. It is said that Usma was obsessed with living a lavish life. She allegedly demanded expensive things, including clothes, shoes, and jewelry, for herself to flaunt her wealth.

But, Chand Pasha could not fulfill her demands for money from his meager earnings as a mechanic. This often led to quarrels between the couple, the sources said.

The husband and wife reportedly fought again on Monday and proceeded to sleep separately. Chand Pasha slept in the hall while Usma took a rest in the bedroom. However, during the night he hanged himself, the complaint said.

The suicide came to light on Tuesday morning when the wife woke up from her sleep. She immediately informed the Basaveshwar Nagar police, who inspected the site and registered a case.

Further investigations are underway.
