The deceased has been identified as Govindappa. Pillion rider Sanjay (11) who was severely injured in the accident has been admitted to the nearby hospital.
It is said that Govindappa had taken his nephew Sanjay out on a Bengaluru tour. He parked his vehicle near the Jakkur flyover and was showing Sanjay the Jakkur aerodrome. Meanwhile, a speeding car hit their bike, and Govindappa fell off the flyover and died on the spot.
The car driver attempted to flee from the spot but was caught by the locals who handed him over to the police officials.
