He promised, a woman named Pallavi (26) from Mysuru, a government job at the Maharani College. For this, Nagaraj reportedly prepared a fake offer letter on a forged government letterhead with the fake signature of the principal secretary of the Education Department. He also collected a sum of Rs 6 lakhs from the woman, police said.

The forgery came to light when the young woman came to the college for document verification. Officials found out that the offer letter was fake. S.N. Padmini an education department official lodged a complaint with the Vidhana Soudha police station about the fake government documents.

The victim reportedly met Nagaraj at a DTP centre in Mysuru where she worked as a typist. She had shared her intention of changing the job for better prospects. Nagaraj had promised her a government job as a First Division Assistant (FDA) at Maharani College for a payment of Rs 6 lakhs.

Once he got paid in full, Nagaraj then forged the government letter at a cyber cafe and faked the government officials signature and gave it to the victim, police sources said.
