Beware of fake apps collecting personal info for Gurha Jyoti and Gruha Lakshmi schemes: Udupi SP

Udupi: District Superintendent of Police Hakay Akshay Machhindra, in a public advisory, warned citizens to beware of fake mobile apps claiming to help people register for the state government’s latest guarantee schemes including Gruha Lakshmi and Gruha Jyoti.

Karnataka Government has not released any Android app related to the guarantee schemes until now. Do not install fake apps on mobile or click on links sent through SMS messages, WhatsApp, and other apps, he said.

“Clicking such a link or installing fake apps may leak your personal information. Don’t give personal details if someone calls and says that you have been selected for some scheme,” the SP added.

To register for these schemes one should visit the Seva Sindhu portal at https://sevasindhugs.karnataka.gov.in/, he said.
