The deceased Babu,47, was admitted to the government hospital at Byndoor for treatment. On the pretext of getting advanced treatment at Kundapur, Babu managed to convince the doctors to discharge him from the hospital. He, however, returned home where he collapsed and died.
On May 3, Babu had tried to stop Santosh (21) from attacking his elder brother Nagaraj (45) at Bavaladi in Bijoor village near Uppunda. In the process, he too had sustained injuries. Nagraj had succumbed to his wounds shortly after the incident. Meanwhile, Santhosh who had gone absconding was arrested by the police on Saturday, May 4 and is in police custody.
Since two persons have died in the case, Santhosh is likely to be booked under additional sections of Indian Penal Code.
