Bengaluru: BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra has called for an NIA investigation into the Nagamangala violence, alleging that the Congress government in Karnataka has adopted a soft stance towards “anti-national elements” that are disturbing law and order in the state.

Speaking at a press conference after receiving a report from the ‘Fact-Finding Committee’ led by former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan, Vijayendra expressed doubts about the state government’s investigation into the violence. He demanded that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah initiate an NIA probe to ensure an unbiased investigation.

Vijayendra criticized the Congress government for its “appeasement politics” and called for an end to such policies for the sake of peace and harmony. He claimed that Hindus were being targeted while the police remained passive. He linked the issue to political frustrations within the Congress, particularly the influence of the D.K. brothers.

The BJP’s fact-finding report has highlighted the role of illegal immigrants from Bangladesh and Assam in the Nagamangala violence. It claims that a particular community has gained economic dominance in the region, and concerns have been raised about the creation of a “second Malappuram” in the area. The report also mentions that nearly 800 acres of land in the region have been taken over by members of a single community, raising alarms about demographic changes.
