Hubballi: Minister Zameer Ahmed has criticized BJP leaders in Karnataka, alleging they are creating unwarranted controversies over the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) formed to discuss the Wakf Amendment Bill. Addressing reporters, Ahmed clarified that the authority to form a committee lies with the central government. However, he emphasized that the JPC has been established specifically for the amendment bill, not to investigate Wakf properties.

Ahmed stated, “There is no confusion regarding this issue. The BJP leaders in the state are unnecessarily stirring up conflicts. If the central government feels it is necessary, let it form another committee. But currently, there is no issue to address.”

According to him, BJP has no substantial issues to campaign on for the upcoming elections. “Even though the Chief Minister clarified the matter, they are continuing their protest purely for electoral and political gains. Pramod Muthalik and BJP are like one – ‘Ek Dil, Do Jaan’ (one heart, two souls),” he remarked.
