Kolar BJP MP S Muniswamy stoked a controversy after scolding a woman for not wearing a bindi.
The incident took place on March 8 at an exhibition and sales fair event inaugurated by Muniswamy on women’s day.
The MP who was inspecting the stalls put up at the exhibition noticed that the woman vendor at one of the stalls was not wearing a bindi.

Muniswamy lashed out at her in public saying, “Wear a Bindi first. Your husband is alive, isn’t he? You have no common sense.” A video of the act went viral on social media.
Condemning the remarks of the MP, the Congress party said such incidents “reflect the culture” of the BJP.
Reacting to the video, Congress MP Karti P Chidambaram, tweeted, “The @BJP4India will turn India into a “Hindutva Iran”. The Ayatollahs of the BJP will have their version of the “Moral Police” patrolling the streets.”
