B'luru Doctor receives mangoes from late patient's family; says some equations are beyond transactional

 

A Bengaluru doctor recently took to social media to describe an unsaid bond that had developed between him and his late patient’s family.

Dr Somalaram Venkatesh, in his post, stated that he had been receiving mangoes as gifts from his patient from Kolar every year for the last decade. Unfortunately, the patient passed away late last year after battling a progressive illness.

The doctor was however pleasantly surprised to receive mangoes from the late patient’s family this year too and went on to say that this gesture is a reminder that sometimes equations with the family members of a patient are way beyond transactional.

Dr Venkatesh shared a picture of neatly chopped mangoes along with his loved-filled tweet.

His post soon went viral on social media and netizens expressed gratitude towards medical staff for their immense contribution to people’s life.

A person also shared his personal story. He mentioned how mangoes had a special place in his heart because of his aunt. Replying to his comment Dr Venkatesh remarked how some bonds become so compelling that one can give up anything for them.

In yet another post, the doctor stated, “Looks like the story was as sweet as the fruit. Now that you’re all here, please go get vaccinated in case you haven’t. #staysafe.”
