B'luru: Law student working as part-time cab driver dies in road accident

A 24-year-old was killed in a road accident after his car jumped the road divider and rammed into a KSRTC bus coming from the opposite direction.

The deceased Lohith Prasad, a native of Ramanagara was a law student and working as a part-time cab driver.

The incident took place on Thursday morning at around 3.15 am when Lohith was driving a Maruti Swift Dzire towards the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). He lost control of the car near BSF campus in Yelahanka Air Force Base, Ballari Road, jumped the divider, and rammed into a KSRTC bus that was moving towards the city.

As per a DHNS report, the bus driver tried to avoid the collision by applying brakes but was unable to do so as the car suddenly hit the bus and it came to a halt only after moving for 50 meters along with the car.

Passersby informed police about the accident. When they reached the spot, Lohit was found dead and there were no occupants in the car.

A case has been registered against Lohith.

His body was given to his family after a post-mortem. Yelahanka police are investigating.
