B'luru: PSI booked for murder after wife found dead

 

A police sub-inspector, posted at Begur police station has been booked for murder after his wife was found dead at their rented residence in Begur on Saturday.

The victim Shilpa (29) was found hanging at by her husband Ramesh at around 6 am in the morning. Shilpa’s parents suspected foul play in her death and filed a case against Ramesh accusing him of dowry harassment and abuse.

Shilpa and Ramesh knew each other from college and were in a relationship. As their families did not consent to their relationship, hence the duo had a registered marriage around 11 months ago.

As per the initial police investigations Ramesh found his wife hanging when he returned home after work and alerted his landlord and neighbors. They then immediately took her to a hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.

Shilpa’s family in their complaint alleged that Ramesh’s family had not approved of their marriage. Further, they accused Ramesh of harassing their daughter for dowry.

A day before her death, Shilpa had called her family and told them about the harassment. She also requested them to lend her some money for her needs.

Shilpa’s family got to know of her hanging from the landlord.

Police said that an investigation is underway in the case and the post-mortem report is awaited.
