The incident occurred around 4 PM at the residence of Sameer R. Katti on Uttaradimath Road in Basavanagudi. Based on a complaint filed by the victim, the police registered a case and launched an investigation, leading to the arrest of the accused.

On the day of the burglary, it was Ekadashi, and Sameer’s mother and her friend were engaged in Rama Bhajans in the kitchen. Sameer was in his room on the first floor. Taking advantage of the situation, Afridi entered the house and made his way into Sameer’s father’s room, where the latter was asleep.

The thief stole a mobile phone, ₹67,500 in cash, a 12-gram gold ring, and an 8-gram gold coin from the room. He then fled the scene. However, his movements were captured on the home’s CCTV cameras, which became crucial evidence in the investigation.
