BMTC gets Rs.100 crore grant in state budget

Bengaluru: A Rs.100 crore grant announced for the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) by the state government in its financial plan is required to give a brief alleviation to the enterprise which has been reeling under losses.

The BMTC had presented a proposition for an allow of Rs.300 crores to the government, to leave the losses. Reacting to this, the government allowed Rs 100 crore and furthermore consented to start the administration of 80 electric buses by the BMTC. 

There is a proposition in the monetary allowance to frame Integrated Land Transport Authority. Ideally, this will prompt a superior coordination between the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL), BMTC, Bangalore Development Authority and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), and will give a problem free travel experience for the commuters.

BMTC Managing Director Ponnuraj was glad that the legislature has reacted to their allure. “We likewise asked for them to reconsider the bus fare because of rising petroleum cost and the hiking charge. That is likewise under check. The Integrated Land Transport Authority is a decent idea which is as of now in different parts of the world. We will set up a work intend to execute that,” he said.
