‘Bring back Rohini Sindhuri’: Online campaign receives overwhelming response

Mysuru: ‘Bring back Rohini Sindhuri’, an online signature campaign started by Concerned Citizens of India following the District Collector’s transfer has evoked an overwhelming response from netizens.

The online signature platform www.org.com launched by Concerned Citizens of India launched received 52,000 signatures by Saturday, June 12 evening.

At the time of launching the campaign, the aim was to collect 35,000 signatures. Following the tremendous response, now the target has been raised to gathering 75,000 signatures.

The campaign said that the State government didn’t even give the IAS officer and former deputy commissioner of Mysuru district time to submit her response to the allegations of her involvement in a land scam made by influential persons.

“We people of Mysore have been left with no information that we are supposed to know and we have the right to know. These corrupt practices have to end one day or the other and let that day be today. Help us to raise your and our voice and let the truth be told and put a full stop to all these scams and let’s start a change for our next generation’s bright future. The people are urging the government to conduct an enquiry into the ‘land scam’ that supposedly took place under Rohini Sindhuri’s administration,” the Concerned Citizens of India campaign said.

Similar campaigns have been launched on social media in support of Rohini Sindhuri by her fans.

Thousands of people commented supporting Sindhuri. The online signature petition will be submitted to President of India Ramnath Kovind.

The Karnataka government had shunted out two warring IAS officers Rohini Sindhuri and Shilpa Nag C T, who had indulged in an ugly public spat over the past few days, out of Mysuru.

Sindhuri, who was Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru district, had been transferred as Commissioner for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, a post she had held earlier.

She was replaced by Bagadi Gautham, who was Additional Commissioner for Commercial Taxes (Enforcement).

The feud between two women officers was out in public, with Nag announcing resignation at a press conference, accusing Sindhuri of “harassment”.

However, Sindhuri had denied the allegations, stating that she had only asked for details regarding COVID-19 management.
