BS Yeddyurappa offers to bear expenses of his helicopter ride

Bengaluru: Bharatiya Janata Party State president B.S. Yeddyurappa has shot off a letter to Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, offering to bear the expenses of the helicopter ride he took to Ilkal from here when he was the Chief Minister for two days recently.

Mr. Kumaraswamy had apparently questioned the expensive helicopter charges for Mr. Yeddyurappa’s journey. Protesting this, Mr. Yeddyurappa said in the letter that he utilized the helicopter as a emergency measure to pay last respects to Mahanta Shivayogi Swami of Ilkal on May 21. While coming back to Bengaluru, he had additionally met the family of farmers who had committed suicide at Channagiri in Davangere to offer his sympathies. 

Keeping up that it was his obligation as the leader of the State to visit both the spots, Mr. Yeddyurappa affirmed that Mr. Kumaraswamy was attempting to misdirect individuals by raising complaints to his travel costs. He offered to hold up under the helicopter ride charges and said that he was tormented by the Chief Minister’s objection.

Responding to the letter, Chief Minister HDK said his government had not come a situation wherein he should depend on Mr. Yeddyurappa to pay for the helicopter expenses.
