Bengaluru: Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa inaugurated the works on the construction of a 108 feet tall statue of the founder of the city Kempegowda.
The statue is to come up at the premises of the city’s international airport along with a central park.
Speaking at the occasion the CM praised Kempegowda saying that the founder of the city had created an excellent planned city. He made a city in a place where there were no water sources and solved the problem by constructing ponds.
He added that the present infrastructure in the city needs to be strengthened and thanked Deputy Chief Minister Ashwath Narayan for his efforts in planning to establish the statue.
