After his release, a press conference was held where BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra and Opposition Leader R. Ashoka lashed out at the Congress government and the police.

Political Conspiracy Alleged

Speaking at the event, Vijayendra termed Ravi’s arrest a “political conspiracy” and criticized the government for detaining a public representative without notice. “If a legislator can be treated this way, what about the common man? DCM D.K. Shivakumar acted as if he had already judged Ravi guilty,” he said.

Vijayendra further warned, “BJP workers are not pushovers. We will fight this issue and decide on the next course of action collectively.”

Opposition Leader R. Ashok accused the Congress of bias, claiming, “The government has released those involved in anti-national activities and riots but arrested Ravi without even issuing a notice. This government is appeasing its vote bank and compromising justice.”

Ashok alleged that a mob of 40 people had entered the Suvarna Soudha intending to harm Ravi, but no action was taken against them. “Congress is not a permanent choice for the people. Their policies of appeasement will drive voters away,” he claimed.

Allegations of Harassment

Both leaders alleged that Ravi had been subjected to undue harassment, with police escorting him across districts for over 11 hours. “The government used police power to mentally and physically harass him. Such actions will only strengthen our resolve to fight harder for the people,” Ravi stated.

BJP Vows Strong Action

The BJP leaders announced plans for a statewide agitation against the Congress government. “We are not a disorganized party like Congress. Our strength lies in unity. If necessary, we will take to the streets to protect our rights,” said Ashoka.

Ravi reiterated his commitment to his cause, stating, “This ordeal has only given me more strength to fight for the people. Truth will prevail.”
