Car crashes into drain: Businessman from Malyadi in Kundapur killed

Siddapura: A businessman was killed after the car he was traveling in crashed into a drain near Ardi Konjadi on Byndoor -Virajapete State highway on Monday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as  Tejraj Shetty (65), of Malyadi Bettinamane in Kundpur Taluk.

It is gathered that Tejraj Shetty was running a catering and bakery business in Bengaluru. His son Rakshak Shetty (26), who was driving the ill-fated Maruti Baleno car, survived with injuries. They both were traveling from Bengaluru towards Shanadi via Haladi on the state highway when the mishap occurred.

Tejraj was rushed to the Belve Government Primary Health Center for treating the head injuries sustained in the accident, but could not be saved.

The deceased is survived by his wife, son, and daughter. A case has been registered by the Sankaranarayana police station.
