Despite enacting the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act, it is observed that the cases of cattle trafficking are on the rise. To control such instances, seeking prior permission for transporting cattle has been mandatory.
Farmers will need to submit an online application and obtain from the District Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry and Animal Husbandry and obtain a certificate from a veterinarian, prior to transporting cattle.
During the online application, a photograph of the cattle along with the Aadhaar card of the farmer or cattle owner has to be uploaded.

Farmers will need to shell out fees for transportation too. For a distance of up to 10km, there are no fees. For any distance exceeding 10 km, farmers need to pay a fee to the animal husbandry department for every extra kilometer.
