Cheating in KEA Exam: One arrested, several detained in Kalaburagi

Kalaburagi: An examinee has been arrested and several others have been detained following alleged cheating in the competitive examination conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority for recruitment of various posts on Saturday.

Police arrested a candidate identified as Trimurthy from Sonna Village of Afzalpur Taluk for allegedly using a Bluetooth device to cheat the FDA examination for the vacancies in the Food and Labour department vacancies.

The irregularities came to light at the examination at Sri Sharanbasaveshwara University examination center in Kalaburagi city under the jurisdiction of Raghavendra Nagar Police Station.

Similarly, the police have detained and interrogated a total of five individuals suspected to be connected with the case.  It is gathered that devices used for examination irregularities were found in the possession of two of the five.

It may be recalled here that R D Patil from Sonna village was accused as the kingpin of the PSI recruitment exam scam two years ago.  The arrest of a candidate  Trimurthi, also from Sonna village, and the arrest of candidates from Afjalapura taluk have again raised many doubts.
