Chennai: Robots to deliver food and medicines to Covid-19 patients

Chennai: In order to limit contact with people infected by the coronavirus and prevent the spread of the disease, government run hospital in Chennai has deployed robots to assist in serving medicines and  food Covid-19 patients. The functions of the Robotic nurses deployed in Stanley Medical College Hospital in Chennai was checked by State’s health minister C. Vijayabhaskar. The robot carried a jar of water, a tumbler and a bottle of hand sanitiser to a predetermined spot, in a demonstration. Similarly, a Kerala-based startup, Asimov Robotics, has developed a three-wheeled robot that can be used to assist patients in isolation wards and in Jaipur, the Sawai Man Singh Government Hospital is conducting a series of trials on a robot to check if it can be put into service for delivering medicines and food to the coronavirus patients
